The success of Virgo's first testnet!

Thanks to all participants for their valuable contributions!
This first part of the testnet was a huge success thanks to the involvement of our community, allowing us to run our protocol on a genuinely decentralized network.
The feedback we received shows that participants enjoyed the event as much as we did, and that our community has made itself familiar with our new technology.

Launched one week ago now, here are some figures to illustrate the success of our first testnet:

Our first testnet allowed us to discover and solve some bugs, including two major ones. We had to roll back the chain twice to resolve them,
but don’t worry: Now VirgoLedger is working perfectly!
We will continue to improve the technology, testing it on even larger scales.

Reward Distribution

We planned to distribute 10,000 VGO in rewards to participants based on
their involvement and contributions. We first expected to distribute those rewards over several weeks, but the testnet went so viral that it only took about 48 hours!

Unfortunately, it also means that most participants won’t receive any reward this time, and only those who came early enough will. We will soon post a list of the rewarded participants and distribute the prizes a few days after.

Don’t worry if you don’t get anything. We are planning more testnet rounds and other opportunities for you to win VGO by helping us build a better internet!

What are the next steps?

Now that we have a viable network, the next step is to open it to more participants! We will soon give 50 VGO/week to anyone that run a VirgoLedger node. This way, we will be able to finetune our networking code, so transactions are even faster!

We will also organize multiple stress tests, where the goal of every participant will be to make as many transactions as possible, thanks to a special tool.
Our software can process thousands of transactions per second in a dev environment; it is time to prove that it can do so in actual conditions!

Finally, we will continue to improve Virgo Wallet thanks to your feedback, aiming to create a tool as easy and powerful as possible. Soon, we will start to integrate the first version of our AppStore to it, making Virgo Wallet the flagship of our capabilities!
